Join Dale Peterson and Candace Campo, on a combined virtual history tour. Dale is a local historian who grew up in the town of Gibson’s land Candace is an Anthropologist, School teacher who is a Shíshálh member, married into Sḵwx̱wú7mesh community. The tour will include the oral history, marine technology, and the way of life of the Shíshálh and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, two sister tribes who have intermarried and collaborated for millennia via the Potlatch way of life. to May 30. Nadine finds peace and enjoyment from drawings and painting and being able to explore the use of different mediums and techniques. Her current medium of choice is soft pastels. The exhibit, “Three, Two, One – Create” is a play on words, but has a larger meaning for this show. There are three artists (Don Zeghers, Krista Zeghers and Coreen Zerr) using two artistic mediums (photography and fibre art) in one exhibit to depict the creative process. Each of the pieces in “Three, Two, One – Create” involves a collaboration between the artists.

Gibsons Public Art Gallery (GPAG) presents Microscapes by Shannon Pawliw, a mixed-media exhibition opening Thursday, April 08. This timely series of works portrays a colourful, fantastical and imagined world where one can fly, float, or soar through a diminutive landscape filled with microbes, bacteria, viruses, cells, and atoms. At once, playful, scientific, serious and mysterious, the engaging collection of painted works is presented alongside fabric and fibre microbial garlands and microbiome sculptures.
