A Night At The Longhouse Event

Orange Shirt Day

All are invited to wear Orange shirts in honour of residential and day school Survivors.  As a shishalh Nation publication explains, "The Annual Orange Shirt Day on September 30th opens the door to global conversation on all aspects of Residential Schools.  It is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential schools and the legacy they have left behind.  A day for Survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter."

Kairos Blanket Exercise

Facilitated by local leaders, the KAIROS Blanket Exercise is a workshop that explores the nation-to-nation relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. Blankets arranged on the floor represent land and participants are invited to step into the roles of First Nations, Inuit and later Métis peoples.
