Allyson Clay

Clay has a BFA from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax, an MFA from U.B.C. Vancouver and has exhibited nationally and internationally for over 30 years. Her work resides in many collections including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Banff Centre, and the Art Gallery of Windsor. Awards include, Senior Artist Grants from the Canada Council, the Mexico/Canada/USA Artist Exchange Residency, and the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Residency Program. Over the years Clay’s work has employed painting, photography, video, and text, either in and of themselves, or as part of an installation. Clay’s last body of exhibited work, shown at the McLaren Art Gallery in Barrie Ontario and Elan Gallery, Vancouver, was a series of monochrome paintings on shaped aluminum panels.
