Kathryn Fullerton Ceramics
I am drawn to working with clay for it’s invitation to discover the path of a tactile imagination. My research develops through investigations and embodiments of place ~ feeling, sensing and thinking through the body. I am drawn to atmospheric firing (wood and smoke fired) for its typically unconventional, unsophisticated, rustic and wild aesthetic.
I enjoy creating one of a kind sculptural and functional stoneware artifacts infused with a vibrant living essence. Each piece is hand built, carved and fired in either a wood kiln for 54 hours or overnight in a pit fire.
