I am a geographer. Since 1967, I have used landscape sketching/painting as a tool for geographic inquiry. This practice elicits appreciation of natural processes, historical reflection, and awareness of potentialities of human action. It also offers an invitation to philosophical reflections and emotional release. The sketches and paintings on view at Watercolour Journey Gallery in Halfmoon Bay, BC and online reflect painting sojourns in some 60 countries. My paintings are not normally for sale, but I do commissioned works and offer workshops from time to time.
