Little Hands (Pre-Schoolers 0-5)

1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Outdoor creative play for families focusing on creative, social development-enhancing creative activities that allow both parent and child an opportunity to connect. Natural and recycled materials, permission to get messy and a warm warm atmosphere contribute to an experience that honours this investigative nature of childhood while maintaining our unique Coast vibe of arts, culture, and outdoor living.

Graffiti Lecture and Workshop with Beau Smith

Understand and learn about local graffiti history and the role it has played in shaping the modern-day graffiti culture. (2:00 – 2:15).  After the lecture, I’ll begin the workshop which will run through to 4:00pm.

Drawing with Bruce – CANCELLED

Apr 11 & 12. Instructor Bruce Edwards. A hands-on approach to some of the techniques, styles, and mediums of drawing.  We will explore line by way of contour and gesture drawing, use of soft graphite, vine charcoal, blending tools, and fine line markers.

Demonstration, step by step drawing, still life and use of black and white photos for reference will also be employed. Join Bruce for this fun and informative workshop.

Introduction to Landscape: Sketch to Finished Work – POSTPONED

Instructor Rick Cepella. Rick will share how he has combined decades of time sketching and recording in the field with a studio practice that allows him to create bold, expressive works born of his passion for the natural world and keen study of painting in its many forms. This is an excellent opportunity to share in the wealth of experience and knowledge of an artist/educator who thrives on the enthusiasm of his fellow artists and students. Some painting/drawing experience an asset.

Come prepared to work and learn. Please bring the painting tools you are familiar with. No oils. For drawing– a sketchbook and drawing tools including a black marker (non-toxic) . Bring samples of your work, reference photos and any examples of the work of others you admire.
