Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Trail Challenge

Aug 8-9. The sunshine coast is a short (and scenic!) ferry ride from Vancouver. Our first day’s ride will begin from Halfmoon Bay, only 45 minutes north of the Langdale ferry terminal;utilizing a combination of existing trail systems, deactivated forestry roads and single track trail, our route will take us (35 km-elevation gain of 700m) to Porpoise Bay. There will be festivities and overnight stay at Porpoise Bay Park (camping facilities only). Sunday, the ride will continue south out of Porpoise Bay (45 km -elevation gain is 1300 m) across Mt. Elphinstone, to Langdale and a finish-line celebration.

Sunshine Coast Ciders & Sours Festival

Presented by The Bricker Cider Company and sponsor, Charm and Gusto, this inaugural fundraiser for the Sunshine Coast Food Bank features a three-hour tasting event showcasing some of BC’s finest craft cideries and breweries.

$45 early bird to March 1st. $55 after.

Participants receive a branded glass and circulate with friends through the tasting venue, chat with vendors, enjoy a live band and sample more than 100 different products.

PR – Powell River Adventures in Film Camp

Part of the Powell River Film Festival’s Youth Festival, this weekend camp is specifically designed for young filmmakers. During the day, participants attend seminars by a diverse group of filmmakers and hands-on video production workshops in small crews. In the evenings, students enjoy youth-oriented films and engaging Q&As. Accommodation is available at a local hotel with meals and full supervision provided.
Fast paced and fun, participants leave the camp with the full experience of video production, including teamwork and troubleshooting, and have a short film for their demo reel.

Winter Intention Gathering.

Intention Gathering is back for its 21st year of magic, bliss and community celebration! ♥

The Space Between

CoastStreaming presents “The Space Between,” an interactive immersive experience happening for two days only as part of the 2019 Sechelt Arts Festival of the Performing Arts. This “pop up” event will transform the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre into a magical world filled with moving projections, art installations, immersive sound, visual art, movement and more. Event kickoff happens Monday evening at 7 pm. Open Monday and Tuesday only from 10am to 5 pm.

Cold Wax Painting with Jen Drysdale

Always wanted to try out Cold Wax painting.? Learn from expert coast visual artist Jen Drysdale as she shows you how to apply this technique in a variety of ways.

Wax, paint, tools & canvas materials supplied
– Only thing you need to bring is your enthusiasm. If you have something you want to add to your paintings like old papers, dry leaves, book pages, or tissue paper, please bring along. Each participant will receive three 9″ x 12″ canvas panels to work on – and take home your creations! No experience needed.

Making Sand Cast Candles

Come and make your own sand cast candles! Trudi d’Ambrumenil will guide participants through the process. Bring shells or rocks or what-nots to embed in your candle and watch the fusion process. We will provide the wax, the sand, and instruction. A fun and easy way to make creative candles for all ages. Children under 13 require adult supervision.
