Art Exhibition: ‘Heartache & Poetry’ Pauline Holden

to June 30. My goal is for us to normalize self expression for all body types, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, and gender identities without it being sexualized. With this project, I hope for you to see the heartache and poetry that each image holds. And for you to leave knowing the innate value of your own body and how it’s carried you through life so far.

Opportunity: DOS Community Photo Display – Summer 2021

To celebrate and promote visual arts in our community, submissions of photographs are being accepted for display in the District of Sechelt’s municipal hall. Applicants from Sechelt are given priority, but artists from other Sunshine Coast localities will also be considered.

Three photos will be displayed in the lobby of Municipal Hall; displays will be rotated on a quarterly basis. For details click here.

Opportunity: Call for Submissions: Q(uee)R Zine

Deadline June 15. Powell River’s What the Plus (+) LGBTQ2S+ Fest (theme: Creative Self Portrait) (Exhibition July 22- Aug 7 at The Art Centre qathet Public Gallery in Powell River, BC) has a ZINE component this year : it’s called QR Zine and we want you to submit content to us – your original comics, illustrations, photos, writing, ideas, sketches, with optional QR code linked online content, on the ‘creative self LGBTQ2S+ portrait’. Opportunity: Call for Artists

Deadline Dec 7th. The District of Sechelt is inviting photographers residing on the Sunshine Coast to submit a photo of Sechelt for consideration as a new photomural inside municipal hall. The selected photograph will be made into a large-scale vinyl appliqué and mounted on the wall behind the main reception desk.

2020 Vision Art Exhibition

Six local visual and mixed media artists with six 2020 visions. Experience the whole fantastical ‘Cabinets of Curiosity” exhibit by Matthew Talbot-Kelly. Engage with a reimagined digital world through the eyes of Kasia Krolikowska. Dionne Paul presents “re-indigenize”, Allan Forest re-examines our natural environment, Alysha and Chad Sergerie re-think everyday life on the coast during 2020 and Gary Sean Loewen presents provocative hand-crafted paper collages with an invitation to create your own.
