Be a part of the Art & Words Festival 2024, August 22-25, at Gibsons Public Market, where you’ll be paired at random with an artist to create magic works of literature and art.
New this year, on the first day of the festival we will have a book & art fair in the market, where participants can sell their art and books. We’re also accepting proposals for workshops.
Last year about 4,000 people came through the doors and saw the show, which included the awards ceremony of our SCWES Book Awards for BC Authors!

In this sound Presentation/Workshop, Giorgio Magnanensi will showcase the potential of using resonating objects and various materials to craft audio resonators. These resonators find their applications in playful sound explorations, performances, and multichannel audio diffusion. Giorgio will further provide demonstrations of his personally crafted wooden resonators, which are created using reclaimed driftwood and discarded slabs sourced from mill operations on the Coast. Participants will have the chance to experience the distinctive qualities of these resonators firsthand, as they diffuse sound energy in all directions, creating an immersive and tangible sonic experience.
