SongShine

Tuesdays to June 2, 2020. We offer an immersive, holistic and fun program that is based on the leading edge science of neuroplasticity and the brain’s ability to reorganize and change itself! By stimulating alternative brain pathways singing and music fortify both the singing and speaking voice. SongShine engages participants in a music therapy-based singing intervention that can significantly improve voice, respiratory control, and swallowing, while enhancing the quality of life for people that struggle with vocal atrophy due to aging, or any neurological challenges like Parkinson’s disease, Stroke, MS, CMT etc.

Young Peoples Art Show: The Banner Project and Young Artists Awards Exhibition

November 27 – Dec 14 at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre

This art exhibition brings together young people from the Banner Project and the Young Artists Awards to showcase young peoples art on the Sunshine Coast. Support these artists and spend enjoyable time in the world of young people.

Invasive Plant Removal at Malcolm Creek by SC Streamkeepers

Our monthly invasive plant removal event is happening the last Saturday each month, so please put on your calendars!

We also have some ferns to plant in place of the ivy, holly and laurel!

Please bring work gloves, eye protection, sturdy boots and small clippers if you have them.

DIRECTIONS:
We will be at the bottom of Metcalfe Road (follow ‘Beach Access’ sign off Lower Road).
We will meet on the bridge over Malcolm Creek .

Sunshine Coast ElderCollege: History of Western Theatre

Theatre has existed since man acted out his hunting adventures around the fire. From the traditions of ancient Greece to the medieval mystery plays and Shakespeare you will also explore the Renaissance, the Restoration and 19th century stagings. Finally, you’ll also look at modern theatre from realism to abstract. Presenter is Viveca Ohm. Ages 55 and up are eligible to attend.
