Voices, The Play

Memories from the roaring 1920’s and the Met Opera come alive in this special multi-media LIVE theatre event.
VOICES is the latest drama by west-coast writer and director Louise Phillips about an exceptional Canadian woman. Opera star Jeanne Gordon was a small-town girl from Ontario who rose to international fame with the Met Opera 1919-1929. When her voice is silenced by mental illness, she finds renewed hope to be heard despite her enforced isolation. This tragic but true story stars Richard Austin, Gordon Austin Dodge, Wanda Nowicki, Steve Schwabl, Rachel Ruecker and Delaney Gilmour.

Art Exhibition: Beautiful Mess: the joyful & random discovery of the artistic process

to October 31st. This exhibition will allow the public access to this usually private process of creation, and allows a rare opportunity of peeking behind the curtain so to speak, beyond the final piece of art. Your artist statement will invite the viewer to gain further insight on what can happen when someone creates art–and how the process itself is artistic. This show aims to create a sense of intimacy between the artist and the public.

“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.” – Scott Adams
