Sunshine Coast Art Crawl

Sunshine Coast Art Crawl

You are invited to the 11th Sunshine Coast Art Crawl “reimagined in 2020”: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm on October 23, 24 & 25th.

‘The Crawl’ will showcase artists on the entire Sunshine Coast from Langdale to Earls Cove or Earls Cove to Langdale.

Over the 3 days, the ‘Coast’ transforms into one large interactive art show. It is a celebration of displays, demonstrations and opportunities to meet the artists behind their amazing creations.

During the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic the Crawl will look a little different.  To provide safety and levels of comfort for all, the Crawlers will have the opportunity to visit the artists in their venues/studios in different and creative ways.

Visit Public Galleries, Venues and Retail Spaces ‘Virtually’ PLUS ‘By Drop in‘ following Provincial Health Guidelines.

Visit some Private/Home Studios ‘Virtually’ PLUS ‘By Appointment’ following Provincial Health Guidelines. (Check venue listings for contacts to sign up.)

Visit some ‘Virtually Only’ – for those uncomfortable to open their home/studio to the public and for Crawlers anxious about going in to spaces outside their ‘social bubble’.

PLUS join participating artists for a Friday Night Reception ZOOM Party. (Check for Venue and links on button below.)

PLUS win prizes by filling in the on-line survey during the Crawl. Sorry, no passports this year.

All Venue Online Virtual listing, contain bios, links and images of their work. Some have uploaded videos and many will have an added opportunity for you to meet the artist for an online chat each day of the Crawl. These venue listings and links will be added to the ‘Virtual Chat’ button on October 21st.

(This will ensure the Crawl to continue IF Provincial Guidelines change in October)

The printed brochure/map can be picked up from any Visitor Centre, BC Ferries, SC Credit Union, galleries and other outlets on the Coast, on-line or email and request one in the mail. It will give you a chance to plan your treasure hunt of artists and their venues for the 3 days of the Crawl.

Before and during the Crawl, refer to this website, follow the printed brochure/map,  or follow Google maps to your destinations.

In 2019 there were over 360 artists in 186 galleries, artists studios and variety of other venues. It is such a great time to gather your family and ‘social bubble groups’ together and get a taste of what Coast Life is all about, and discover some unique and sometimes very off the road locations.
